As some of you may be aware, I have had a little group challenge going throughout January (called 31 Days of Health and Happiness - which is going to still continue, even though 31 days have passed!) and it has been a huge success, with most of the guys and dolls in the group really making massive strides with their physical and mental well-being - focusing on the good things in life, things that made them happy, looking at their food and exercise routine and making some changes. It was thoroughly enjoyable, and really nice to be part of a little community of people with a similar mindset.
I thought that we should try to continue along this vein, by having a February challenge, all based around the idea of positive thinking. I got the idea partly from one of the girls in the group (I won't name her, but I know she knows who she is!) who had been finding it very hard to look at things in a positive way, and is really trying to focus on the positive, focus on self-love, and removing toxic people and things from their environment. I've also been reading Bressie's book - 'Me and My Mate Jeffrey', where he speaks quite openly about his struggle with anxiety, depression and his inner demons. This has opened my mind to see what it must be like for somebody to be in a position like that. Also, recently, Leanne Moore (a health and fitness blogger, singer, actress and all round beauty!) has been posting positive thoughts for the last few weeks and it has really helped me to improve my own positive thinking.
People who know me personally, know that I'm generally a very positive type of person. I try look on the bright side to most situations. I try not to let things get me down, focusing on the good things in my life, rather than the 'not-so-good'! It can be difficult to always be positive and look on the good things, but I think that if you begin with small steps, you can create big things :)
So, with that, I will set up a group on Facebook, which has really helped keep people together with the last challenge, and there, we can post some positive thoughts or things that may have happened during the day. It can be absolutely anything.
All of these are things that have happened to me in the past week or so. And to some people, they may be nothing - normal, everyday things. And yes, they are. But combined, they help me to focus on the good things. This, in turn, becomes my normal way of thinking. I no longer focus on negative things. I don't give them time. I don't allow them to consume me and to ruin the next few hours/days, etc. Anybody who has read The Secret, or any other books like that, will know, 'thoughts become things'. So focusing on the good and the positive, will bring about good and positive things.
Now, don't get me wrong, not every day is the BEST DAY EVER!!!! But there is something great in every day, you just have to find it. Like I said, start with the small and work your way up :)
Here's a link to the group on Facebook: "The Power of Positive Thinking" where you can look to be added, and I will accept you into the group ASAP :)

- I got a car-parking space close to the door on a wet Tuesday morning.
- I lit a candle and read my book for an hour before bed time.
- I saw a little brother and sister playing in the park while out for a walk.
- I had a bath and relaxed for the evening.
- My friend asked me to be her bridesmaid.
- I made a delicious new recipe for dinner.
- I managed to complete some things on my 'to do' list.
- I helped a friend who was struggling with something.
- One of my children in school wrote me a little card.
- I got a compliment from a friend about an outfit I was wearing.
- I read a nice poem.
- I had a great session in the gym and increased weights.
- I had dinner with some friends.

To quote Bressie from his book:
"As ever, toxic, negative environments contribute to toxic, negative thoughts, which lead to toxic, negative experiences"
So, not to be an ass or anything, but I thought I'd change the quote up a little (sorry Bressie!), to read:
"Positive, happy environments contribute to positive, happy thoughts, which lead to positive, happy experiences!
And I'll just leave it at that! <3
